Envy has purchased a Flame visual effects system and recruited Moving Picture Company’s Nick Bennett to drive it.

The new system will be added to the company’s visual effects department at Rathbone Place, where Bennett will take on the role of senior VFX/Flame operator.

At MPC, Bennett worked on the multi-award-winning Sony Bravia ‘Paint’ campaign and the Orange ‘Wicked Witch’ spots. He starts his new job at the end of October.

Envy managing director Dave Cadle said: “Appointing Nick, with his talent and high-end commercial expertise, brings Envy to the next chapter. It is great to offer these VFX resources to our clients. Each job differs from the next and clients want the flexibility to bring their vision to life.”

In order to facilitate the expansion, Envy has also struck a “long term deal” with reseller XTFX to supply it with Autodesk kit. “We plan to spend more money in stages,” acknowledged Cadle.

Envy is also currently recruiting staff for its 3D department.
