In a bid to prove that opposites attract, seven brainy nerds and seven dim beauties are put together in a desperate attempt to spark romance. The entertainment comes from the challenges both sides must face together. These range from combining wits on a camping trip, learning how to dance and working at a deli. There are also specific challenges that the guys and girls must face alone. The beauties have to put together a car while the geeks get a massage lesson. The end game has yet to be revealed but it is believed the pair who make the greatest transformation and get together win a prize.
Who's showing it?
US network The WB has ordered a six-episode run from executive producers Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg, the pair behind popular MTV hidden camera show Punk'd. It was created by writer Nick Santora, whose past experience includes scripting episodes of dramas, such as The Sopranosand Law & Order. It is currently in production for broadcast this summer.
Coming to the UK?
No plans yet but both Channel 4 and MTV have aired Punk'd, so a second successful series from Kutcher could see it take the same route over the pond.
Will it work here?
A fresh take on the matchmaker format, where the geek actually gets the girl, could provide good hangover fodder for C4's Sunday
morning strand, T4. The WB doesn't have a UK outlet so MTV could come on board with Kutcher's new project.
