The US giant, which operates as an independent production unit within Fox, has had discussions with Scream Films in the past week. A deal would give it a foothold in the UK production market. Sister company Fox TV is already a broadcaster in the UK, having launched FX2 in January last year.
Fox Television Studios president Angela Shapiro is understood to be overseeing the deal but has yet to sign off on any agreement. Neither Fox, part of Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation empire, or Scream were available for comment.
Scream has a turnover of£3.7m and made a pre-tax profit last year of£250,000.
It has nine full-time staff including managing director Southan Morris and entertainment chief Paul Flexton, and has built its business largely on the back of multichannel commissions.
It produces 90 x 60-minute talkshow Loose Lipsand the Inside Soap Awardsfor Living TV and Celebrities Exposed: Lies Lies Liesfor 1TV2.
