Kat Hebden is returning to FremantleMedia UK to become head of interactive following the departure of Peter Cassidy.

Hebden, who previously worked at Fremantle as a senior interactive producer in 2012, will take charge of the firm’s online video channels, producing original IP and support for its slate of shows including The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.

Reporting into chief executive Sara Geater, she will also help to develop innovative digital experiences around its new and existing properties and work closely with Fremantle partners including Vice Media and multichannel networks StyleHaul and Divimove.

The hire comes after Cassidy exits Fremantle after eight years to become European vice president for interactive TV producer Applicaster.

Hebden, a former interactive producer for Wall To Wall, joins from Syco Entertainment.

Earlier this week FremantleMedia International digital chief executive Keith Hindle revealed the indie was planning to develop a wave of online formats.

As part of the push the business has also hired former Endemol digital producer Charlie Campbell as digital executive producer.
