Fusion Radio Holdings, run by former London News Radio head Nigel Reeve, is building its portfolio of local radio stations and has merged with The Milestone Group's radio interests in a deal worth£4.1m, writes Georgina Lipscomb

The Milestone Radio Company, which controls Kestrel FM in Basingstoke and Kick FM in West Berkshire, becomes a subsidiary of Fusion Radio Holdings as part of the deal. Milestone chairman Andy Craig joins Fusion's board as a director and will take charge of all future Fusion Radio licence applications.

Under the terms of the merger, The Milestone Radio Company's production outfit ListenEar will produce Fusion Radio's new chart show, which launches on 18 November for local stations.
