BBC scripted comedies Gavin & Stacey and Pulling are set for US remakes after securing pilots from Fox and ABC.

Fox is piloting the remake of the Ruth Jones and James Corden’s comedy , dubbed Friends & Family, to be produced by BBC Worldwide and Baby Cow Productions in association with Sony Television. It will be written by I Just Want My Pants Back creator David Rosen with BBCW’s Jane Tranter exec producing.

Sony Pictures Television will sell the show internationally if the series is picked up.

Broadcast Greenlight

ABC is redeveloping Pulling, the Silver River Productions starring and co-written by Sharon Horgan. It is the second time that a remake of the BBC3 series has been attempted in the US.

The adaptation is produced ABC Studios and Kapital Entertainment and will be written by Bad Teacher writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky.  It will be executive produced by Horgan and her co-creator Dennis Kelly.

Disney Media Distribution will sell global if the show is ordered to series.

The moves comes as the season for piloting shows gets underway in Los Angeles.

Other notable projects to receive pilot orders including Betrayal, based on Dutch drama Overspel and Brad Pitt-produced thriller The Returned, from ABC, and the Sony Pictures Television-produced remake of Beverly Hills Cop, guest starring Eddie Murphy, for CBS.
