A new year brings a new entrant to the Broadcast 20.

Talent Group creates, develops and produces TV shows and series, the best known being interactive format Test the Nation. Talent replaces Chrysalis, which sold its radio business last year to focus on music.

The privately owned Global Radio, led by former ITV chief executive Charles Allen, acquired Chrysalis's radio business and the same company was behind the most significant movement in the Broadcast 20 this week.

GCap Media's confirmation of a takeover approach from Global Radio sent GCap Media's shares rocketing by more than 50% and a further surge above the level of the proposed 190p bid pushed the shares up 68.7% on the week.

Elsewhere, worries about the wider economic environment meant only five companies ended the week in positive territory.
