Terry Pratchett drama Going Postal snatched a brace of prizes from BBC1’s Sherlock at this year’s RTS Craft and Design Awards.

The fantasy drama, produced by the Mob Film Company for Sky1, picked up awards for original music score and photography, beating nominee Sherlock.

The awards, which recognise TV production talent, said the drama was “a perfect example of director and DOP in perfect harmony… with magical sequences that were technically extraordinary, as well as visually stunning.”

However, the BBC1’s modern take on the classic detective novels, adapted by Hartswood Films, scored three wins for original title music, picture enhancement effects and tape & film editing in drama.

E4’s teen superhero series Misfits also claimed two awards, for best special effects and best sound in a drama.

The Mill TV team won best digital effects for their work on Doctor Who episode The Pandorica Opens.

Mo Mowlam biopic Mo, starring Julie Walters, won best make up design in a drama while E4 comedy Facejacker won best make up design in entertainment and non-drama as well as best costume design in entertainment and non-drama.

The best costume design for drama went to Eighties-set Boy George biopic Worried About the Boy.
