Granada has handed outgoing Coronation Streetproducer Kieran Roberts a new role at the company as head of drama in Manchester.
From January, Roberts will develop drama projects for Carolyn Reynolds, Granada Manchester's controller of drama, using writers who have worked on Coronation Street. He will also oversee the development of projects that Reynolds already has in the pipeline.
Roberts has been with Coronation Streetfor two years since joining the show in 2001, after leaving a producer role on drama At Home with the Braithwaites. Tony Wood takes over as producer of Coronation Streetnext month.
Reynolds, who is currently overseeing projects such as Blue Murder, Distant Shoresand Von Trapped, said: "Our priority is great scripts and I have for some time encouraged the existing Coronation Streetwriting team to bring new projects to the table."
