Factual and daytime chiefs expected to be announced next week
Granada Content director of programmes, south Grant Mansfield is to create two new controller positions as a result of the broadcaster's recent restructure across daytime, factual, arts and drama programme making, writes Steve Aston.

Mansfield will next week name controllers of factual and daytime who will work across Granada's output. His appointments are the next stage in the reorganisation of Granada's content division kicked off by managing director Simon Shaps.

This will see a number of new controller appointments across the business and an appraisal of the various brands operating within Granada.

Jim Allen, currently controller of factual at LWT & United Productions, is a contender for the new role of controller of factual within Granada Content.

It is unclear which role Jeff Anderson, controller of factual at Granada's Manchester operation, might take.

The reorganisation has caused turmoil among production staff within Granada as they jockey

for new roles within the new structure.

Some staff are thought to be disappointed with the positions they are likely to have in the new pecking order.
