Luxury Knightsbridge retailer and BSkyB's interactive arm Open? claim interactive programming first with 'watch and shop' festive special
Leading Knightsbridge department store Harrods is launching what it claims is a combined interactive programming and shopping first, writes Dominic Timms.

The luxury goods vendor is banding together with BSkyB's majority owned interactive and online arm Open? to broadcast the 'UK's first' interactive TV shopping show.

To air this Thursday (December 7) on Sky One, The Harrods Christmas Special will broadcast regular on-screen icons throughout the behind the scenes Xmas show, enabling viewers to jump to Open.. where they can browse Harrod's virtual store.

Viewers of other digital platforms will, however, be required to place orders over the phone.
