MTV Networks International, The Walt Disney Company and Apple have joined forces to allow UK iTunes downloads of full-length television shows from some of America's biggest channels.

MTV Networks International, The Walt Disney Company and Apple have joined forces to allow UK iTunes downloads of full-length television shows from some of America's biggest channels.

The deal, the first of its kind for Apple outside the US, means UK customers can access major series - including South Park, Pimp My Ride, Lostand SpongeBob SquarePants- though iTunes.

Content comes from Nickelodeon, Paramount Comedy, MTV, The Disney Channel and ABC Studios.

UK consumers will be charged £1.89 per episode from the iTunes UK store. The shows can be viewed on either a computer or iPod.

MTV's programming has been available in the US since 2006.

President of MTV Networks global digital media Mika Salmi said that iTunes was a 'natural progression' in the global roll-out of content on digital platforms from all its brands.

The company already has programming and content available on 35 mobile TV stations, 284 properties and 141 channels.

Other shows to be made available on iTunes includes full seasons of MTV's My Super SweetSixteen, Nickelodeon's Genie in the Houseand Paramount Comedy's That '70s Show.
