Tommy Zalucki has fast developed a reputation – and earned a Broadcast Sport award – for smoothing the intense logistical nightmares of live sport production. He made a name for himself by single-handedly setting up the creative department for the Extreme E racing series, steering the production while simultaneously developing and producing a five-part Amazon Prime series.

For ITV’s Tour de France coverage, meanwhile, Tommy pioneered a live supporting series that aired immediately after each stage of the race.

For the broadcaster’s FIFA World Cup programming this summer, Tommy helped to elevate the drama with high-concept multi-platform programming from New York including the Preview Show and helping establish ITV’s ‘sonic identity’ of the tournament through its music choices.

Beyond these flagship events, Tommy is passionate about giving a platform to under-represented sports, as demonstrated in an earlier role at IMG, where he produced women’s golf content to inspire young girls to take up the sport.

ITV Sport managing director Mark Demuth describes Tommy as a “massive burst of fresh energy” in the fast-paced TV sport world.

“Tommy has completely transformed how we look at our content,” he says. “He has his finger firmly on the pulse of what younger sports audiences want to watch.

“With his vision for our digital platforms, ITVX and YouTube, he is really showing us the future of sports broadcasting. Tommy is exactly the kind of talented, forward-thinking producer the sports industry needs right now.”
