Renegade Pictures’ Alex Cooke and Minnow Films’ Morgan Matthews have been appointed to the Grierson Trust board.

The documentary directors will each serve a three-year tenure on the board of the trust, which promotes and celebrates documentary making.

Cooke is current chief executive of Renegade, the indie she founded with Alan Hayling, and has produced films for broadcasters around the world.

Her credits include United Gates of America for the BBC, a documentary about the race and immigration inside one of California’s largest gated communities.

Matthews, who founded Minnow, was behind three-hour film The Fallen, which paid tribute to every British serviceman and woman to have died while serving in Afghanistan and Iraq.
