The Independent Television Commission has agreed to a change in Anglia Television's regional programming licence commitments for its 17.30 slot.

Regional factual output will rise by 24 minutes a week to a total of two hours and seven minutes, while educational ouput goes up by seven minutes to one hour and 27 minutes. The decision leads to corresponding decreases in other genres, including sport, which drops from 30 to 20 minutes, and light entertainment, which is lowered from 16 to five minutes. The changes came into effect on 1 January 2000.
