ITV period drama Mr Selfridge is headed to Canada after the broadcaster struck a deal with Vision TV.
The Canadian pay-TV broadcaster, which airs British series including Call The Midwife, Doc Martin and Downton Abbey, has acquired the first season of the show, which includes a 1 x 90-minute episode followed by 9 x 60-minute eps, and the recently commissioned 10 x 60-minute season.
ITV Studios Global Entertainment has also shopped its recently ordered US cable series Kentucky Bidders to Canada’s Rogers-owned specialty channel OLN. The series, which is produced by ITV Studios America for truTV, follows a Southern auction house.
French-Canadian broadcaster V has also recommissioned Canadian indie Zone 3 to produce a seventh season of ITV’s Un Souper Presque Parfait (Come Dine With Me) and has bought the fourth season of Four Weddings USA.
Craig Bohland, vice president of sales, North America for ITVS GE, said: “These deals are testament to the appeal of ITVS GE’s portfolio, which runs the gamut from distinctive, high quality dramas to popular entertainment formats that have become staples of schedules worldwide.”
