MIPCOM: Sing If You Can, the ITV1 entertainment show hosted by Keith Lemon, is to be remade in the US – where it will be hosted by Jackass star Steve-O.
The show, in which celebrities compete against each other by singing in extreme circumstances, will be renamed Killer Karaoke.
TruTV has ordered eight episodes from Zodiak USA for launch in early 2012.
It follows the launch of a UK version on ITV1 in April, which has since been sold into 13 territories by distributor Zodiak Rights.
Steve-O said: “I’m in love with the concept of this show and overjoyed to be part of it. I cannot wait to get started.”
Executive producers are Grant Mansfield, Naralka Znak and Claire O’Donohoe. Noah Bonnett serves as co-executive producer.
For truTV Robyn Hutt will be executive in charge of production, while Angel Annessek is executive producer.
Zodiak Rights will distribute the series internationally.
The series is Zodiak’s fourth commission for truTV, for which it currently produces All Worked Up, spin-off Lizard Lick Towing and the network’s most-watched series, Hardcore Pawn.
It marks a year since RDF USA was rebranded Zodiak USA in September 2010 following RDF Media Group’s takeover by Zodiak Entertainment Group in July 2010.
