MIPCOM: Content Television has sold BBC2 doc Wild Wales to NHK Japan – one of several new deals from its Cardiff-based Content West portfolio.
The 3 x 60-minute series, made by Aden Production, with air in Japan later this year following an agreement with the national public broadcaster NHK.
The series showcases the country’s landscapes and wildlife.
The doc has also been picked up by Canada’s High Fidelity HDTV, alongside 5 x 30-minute natural history series The Secret Life of Birds, also from Aden Productions.
Both will air on High Fidelity’s nature channel, Oasis HD.
Broadcaster Viasat has signed three Content West titles for broadcast throughout Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.
These include Wild Wales, the Secret Life of Birds and 8 x 30-minute fall-on-the-wall series Anna’s Wild Life.
The latter has been picked up by Discovery in the UK for broadcast on Animal Planet while the Secret Life of Birds will air in Spain on Chello Multicanal’s Natura channel.
