Lambie Nairn has landed a silver award in the corporate and brand identity category of the 2000 British Design & Art Direction (BD&A) Awards. The gong for large identity schemes recognises the company's work with the BBC logo, typeface and branding systems. The identity seeks to convey personality not through logos but by brand properties such as BBC 1's balloon (above) and the BBC 2 performing 2s. The D&AD Awards, known as the Yellow Pencils, are the largest internationally respected awards in the design and advertising industry. In almost their fourth decade, they were held on Wednesday night (24 May) at London's Olympia.
