Maverick has appointed two exec producers as it hopes to close a raft of new commissions with terrestrial and multichannel broadcasters.
Ian Holt, a Bafta-nominated series editor who has worked on BBC2 series including James May’s Toy Stories, The Restaurant and A Farmer’s Life For Me, joins the indie this week.
He has just finished series producing Channel 4 history series Tony Robinson’s Gods and Monsters.
Former freelancer Simone Haywood has already joined and has been given the task of executive producing Disney commissions My Supersweet Worldclass and Get the Disney Junior Look. She previously produced ITV shows I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here Now! and Pete Doherty In 24 Hours.
Maverick Television creative director Alexandra Fraser said the hires prepared the business for a spell of forthcoming orders.
“Ian is brilliant at delivering intelligent factual content in popular, broad-appeal wrapping,” she said. “Simone has real modernity and is great with talent, as she has proved on our current ventures with MTV and Disney.”
The appointments do not directly replace Jilly Pearce and Charlotte Reid, who left earlier this year.
