McFly is to feature in a fly on the wall documentary as the first original commission for 5* since its relaunch in March.

McFly on the Wall is a 6 x 30-minute series, produced by LoveLive, is due to air in the spring and will follow the band on their 16-date tour that kicks off today in Wembley and will see them visit Japan and Spain.

The series aims to reveal the lives behind the scenes of band members Dougie, Danny, Harry and Tom after their nine-year career that has brought them seven number one singles and sales of 8 million records.

Kate Barnes, head of digital channels for C5, said the series would form a key part of the channel’s spring schedule.    

“This series will give 5* viewers a unique perspective on what it’s like to live through the highs and lows of life on the road,” she said.

The series, which was ordered by Barnes and C5’s commissioning editor for entertainment, daytime & soaps Greg Barnett, will be exec produced by LoveLive’s Richard Cohen.
