Mentorn Media has promoted Tayte Simpson to become its director of programmes.
Simpson will leave his current role as head of factual for the Tinopolis-owned business to take up the position vacated by Hannah Wyatt earlier this year.
Since joining Mentorn from RDF Television last year, Simpson has overseen a range of series including ITV2’s University of Bedfordshire documentary series Freshers and Channel 4 film Crazy About One Direction. He has also helped secure commissions for the Question Time-producer including forthcoming C4 taxidermy film Get Stuffed.
Simpson’s appointment follows the departure of Wyatt to become creative director of Boundless in March.
Mentorn creative director Mark Roberts said, “currently working on commissions spanning six channels – from formats to access docs – [Simpson] is the obvious choice to become director of programmes.”
Simpson added: “Mentorn Media continues to be a force in television production, generating new creative programme ideas whilst maintaining established brands like Question Time, Motorway Cops, Free Speech and The Big Questions.”
