Dublin-based indie Midas Productions is to look at Celtic mythology for a new documentary series for broadcasters in Ireland and Wales. The 3 x 60-minute Celtic Monsters aims to investigate the demons and supernatural spirits that 'inhabit the Celtic consciousness'. The series, which will cost£500,000 in total, is a co-production with Cwmni Da in Wales, TG4 in Ireland and S4C and ITV1 in Wales. It is also backed by the European media fund with pre-sales already made to YLE in Finland and LRT in Lithuania. It is produced by Stephen Smith and directed by Mark Warren. S4C International holds the international rights.
