MTV UK has commissioned Beauty School Drop Outs, a new reality series from UK indie True North.

The Viacom-owned pay-TV broadcaster has ordered the 8 x 60-minute series, in which four girls and four boys will be offered the opportunity to launch a dream career in the beauty industry by being shipped off to a dedicated school in Manchester.

The follows the channel’s successful reality franchises including Geordie Shore and The Valleys, which is also produced by True North.

The eight beauty school wannabees will learn body building, personal training, tattooing, waxing, massaging and hairstyling techniques before trying out their skills at the end of the year.

The series will air in October and was commissioned by senior vice president and general manager, MTV UK Kerry Taylor and Steve Regan, vice president of production. It will be exec produced by Regan and True North’s Fiona Sullivan.
