Virgin Radio has appointed Media UK editorial and content director James Cridland as managing editor for its online operation. He will be charged with the expansion of virginradio.co.uk and the development of new content partnerships on the site. The division has also been renamed Virgin Radio New Media from its previous moniker, Ginger Online. Ginger Online head Michaela Smith moves up to the newly created role of head of new media services (south).
