NTL content subsidiary Premium TV has shelved plans for a joint-venture sport channel with the BBC because of its financial problems. The BBC was due to provide archive sport footage to the channel, originally called British Sport but renamed Classic Sport. It was originally expected to launch in September, but was put back to March. Fifty jobs are under threat.
