Producers' alliance Pact is launching a survey into the success of ethnic minority-led production companies.

Pact will first gather data from every independent producer in the UK to establish a benchmark of ?success'. It will then survey ethnic minority-led production companies to see how their achievements match up to the industry standard of success.

There is currently no hard data on the progress made by ethnic minority-led indies. Anecdotal evidence suggests that ethnic minority-led indies are ?ghettoised', in that they are only successful in making narrow types of production, Pact said.

The Pact survey will study this claim and report on the specific barriers to success faced by ethnic minority-led indies.

The study is being undertaken by the Institute for Employment Studies.
