PSE-Panel-Inside-Media-Composer

Pro Sound Effects has launched a panel integration for Avid Media Composer, making it the first sound effects platform to offer this capability.

The integration gives video editors direct access to Pro Sound Effects’s library of more than 1.2 million sounds without leaving the Media Composer interface.

It was built using Avid’s Media Composer Panel SDK and provides straightforward access to fully licensed sound effects from early temp edits through to final picture lock.

The integration also connects to Pro Sound Effects’s free desktop app, SoundQ, making it possible for teams to browse, search, and organise sounds from their internal sound effects libraries on local, network, or cloud storage, and import them into Media Composer bins with metadata intact.

“Sound effects are integral to every media production project — they need to be quick and easy to access,” said Bradford Swanson, head of product at Pro Sound Effects. “We’re proud to be the first sound effects platform to offer this tight integration with Avid Media Composer.”

“It is great to see that Avid Media Composer editors have, for the first time, access from within the editor to a massive library of professional sound effects at their fingertips with the new Pro Sound Effects extension,” adds Ray Thompson, senior director of worldwide partners and alliances at Avid. “Editors now can drive greater efficiency and have more creative flexibility by leveraging PSE in the editor, allowing them to stay creative with a deep sonic toolset covering categories from A to Z.”
