ScreenSkills launches free leadership training for post and VFX

ScreenSkills has launched another round of free online training courses for post-production and VFX professionals working in HETV and film. 

The ‘Leading Effective Teams in post and VFX’ courses run online 9.30am–2.30pm, with dates in October and November. 

The courses have been created specifically for post-production and VFX and are fully funded free courses consisting of an interactive five-hour online session followed by individual mentoring.

Topics include building trust, motivating teams, effective communication, managing workloads, delegation, handling challenging conversations, creating inclusive environments and establishing clear AI protocols.

Angela Law, who runs the courses, says: “Many people move into leadership roles in post and VFX because of their technical expertise, yet have had little training in managing people. These courses provide practical leadership skills and ideas that participants can put into practice straight away.

“The courses give existing and emerging leaders an opportunity to share experiences with industry peers and develop practical approaches to help themselves and their teams – especially useful with the current pressures in post and VFX.”

The training is supported by the ScreenSkills High-end TV Skills Fund with contributions from UK high-end TV productions and by the ScreenSkills Film Skills Fund with contributions from UK film productions.
