Eastbourne Borough FC has launched seven-part docuseries Owning Eastbourne. It follows the club’s chairman Simon Leslie as he attempts to reinvent the non-league football club and the town it represents.

The club describes the series as “raw, real and relentlessly human. It’s a story of community, resilience and belief and what happens when passion collides with pressure”.

Owning Eastbourne was filmed throughout the 2024–25 season, when the club achieved the highest points tally in its 59-year existence within the football pyramid’s sixth tier. The season saw record-breaking crowds, and the club come close to promotion to the National League.

The previous season, the club had narrowly avoided relegation.

Owning Eastbourne is available on Eastbourne Borough FC’s YouTube channel, and will premiere in the USA on ReachTV, which is available across airports, hotels and airlines.

The docuseries is narrated and produced by Mike Birch, with editing by Dave Hill and production by John Wood.

“This isn’t just about football,” said Leslie. “It’s about building something that matters, a story of a town, belief and sometimes lack of it, purpose and possibility.”
