Maidstone Studios will host ITV Sport’s studio coverage of the Euro 2020 group stages plus the Tour de France this summer.

The football matches, cycling grand tour and studio highlights all expected to be available through ITV Player, as well as linear channels, with VSquared TV producing the cycling coverage.

Maidstone Studios will provide full broadcast facilities, socially distanced production spaces, dressing rooms, green rooms, offices and edit suites for over 140 people and an outdoor filming area for the Tour De France - which is returning after also being based there in 2020.

Meanwhile, the studio will be working closely with Arena Television to supply all equipment needed from cameras, edit suites and recording equipment all supported by the iP core of Arena’s OBY OB Truck on Euro 2020.

Chairman of Maidstone Studios, Geoff Miles, said: “We are delighted to welcome back ITV Sport to Maidstone Studios this summer and to have such prestigious tournaments broadcasting live from our facilities is fantastic. As a regional broadcast facility with dedicated lines and multiple filming spaces we have been able to host many covid compliant primetime shows across 2020 & 2021.”

Senior unit manager, Arena Television, Oliver Guess, added: “We are delighted to support Maidstone on this project. The team and I are excited to get to it over the summer on the Euros as the complexity and detail that goes into facilitating this level of broadcast is exceptional.”
