Finite Films & TV has launched the second iteration of its digital competition series, Wings & Waves 2 (12.5 minutes x 16), in partnership with North Sails.

The high-energy sports competition returned to the North Sails YouTube channel yesterday (1 October) with a new cast of celebrity creators.

Based at Club North FeelViana on Portugal’s coastline, four celebrity creators are thrown into the deep end of one of the most demanding action sports, kiteboarding.

With zero kiteboarding experience, they travel to Portugal to train under the guidance of two elite professional kite athletes, pushing themselves far beyond their comfort zones. As their skills develop, the creators go head-to-head in a series of competitive challenges designed to test courage, progression, and endurance.

The celebrity contestants taking part in the second series are Jazz Saunders, star of Made in Chelsea; Tinuke Oyediran, TV Presenter and host of CEOs Go Wild; Keiran Darby, star of Love is Blind UK; and breakdancer and content creator, Van Martarello.

They are coached by athletes from North Kiteboarding and Red Bull ‘Kings of the Air’, Francesca Maini and Cohan Van Dijk.

The winner of the competition will receive the opportunity to become the face of North Sails’ Actionsports’ YouTube coverage: King of the Air, along with a £5,000 cash prize.

The series continues a long-term collaboration between North Sails and Finite Films & TV. It was driven by growing interest in mental wellbeing, adventure, sustainability, connection to nature, and participation in emerging sports.

Wings & Waves 2 is part of Finite Films & TV’s expanding unscripted slate that aims to connect audiences with brands through authentic storytelling and entertainment.

Amy Gardner, executive producer of Wings & Waves 2 and founder of Finite Films & TV says: “Wings & Waves 2 continues to take televised sports to a new level, and we are excited to continue to pave the way for integrated and truly collaborative formats, demonstrated through our relationship with North Sails. In each episode, the contestants are pushed outside their comfort zone, supporting each other throughout this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. The format itself works perfectly for myriad sporting locations all over the world and we cannot wait for this series to continue to grow alongside talent, partners and territories.”

North Sails and Finite Films & TV also collaborated on the YouTube docuseries Challengers, which follows GB1, the British entry in the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup. Force of Nature, another collaboration, was commissioned by Channel 4 in the UK for their Sport YouTube channel.
