Ronu Miah was previously head of rights and content at BT Sport

Whisper has added former BT Sport and beIN Media Group exec Ronu Miah to its senior team.
Miah arrives as general counsel, having previously held senior legal roles at beIN Media Group, Sky Sports, Team Marketing, and more, as well as working as head of rights and content at BT Sport.

At Whisper, Miah will lead the legal department, overseeing all commercial negotiations and providing strategic counsel to the board. His arrival comes shortly after Whisper returned to private ownership, and made two other senior appointments, with Fiona Morgan joining as chief brand officer and Jenny Collins as chief people and operating officer.
Sunil Patel, Whisper founder & CEO, said: “Ronu is a phenomenal addition to our team. He is a world-class dealmaker who understands the intricacies of the global sports and media market as well as anyone in the business. As we enter this next phase of accelerated growth, his experience in navigating large negotiations and his relentless focus on commercial excellence make him the perfect fit for Whisper’s culture. Having Ronu lead our legal team ensures we have the strategic depth to continue disrupting the industry at scale.”
Miah added: “I am delighted to be joining Whisper at this exciting point in its journey. Whisper has built an exceptional reputation for creative excellence and innovation in sports storytelling. I am looking forward to working with Sunil and the senior leadership team as the business continues to scale internationally and unlock new commercial opportunities.”
