From live AI dubbing for ice hockey to data-driven editorial tools and a new cloud graphics partnership, here are three standout tech companies at Sportel

Monaco-based sports conference and exhibition Sportel, which has just closed its doors, provided a platform for a wide range of sports tech companies to showcase their offering and news. Below, Broadcast Sport rounds up news from three innovative technology companies it spoke to at the show.

SyncWords
SyncWords used Sportel to promote its work providing sports events with live dubbing and subtitling. The company provided the FIFA World Cup 2026 with subtitling for the tournament’s in-stadium app experience and fan zone public viewing. Timely and accurate live match commentary was an important part of a more inclusive viewing experience, for fans who are deaf or hard of hearing.
SyncWords built a live closed-captioning workflow that made match commentary accessible across several viewing environments – large public Fan Zones, spectators inside the stadiums, and fans following along through the FIFA World Cup 2026 mobile experience.
It combined live feed contribution, SRT streaming, AI speech recognition, sports-specific vocabulary, closed captioning, cloud-based web delivery and mobile app integration into one live accessibility platform, built to support matches throughout the tournament with captions that keep pace with the action.
Another customer, AEG Sports – the owner of ice hockey team LA Kings – recently used SyncWorlds to live translate 52 matches of its ice hockey team Eisbären Berlin from German to English to make the games accessible to the American market.
The German language game feed arrives at SyncWords live. AI speech recognition transcribes the commentary, translates it and generates English audio, which is returned to Triple B Media, which operated the US FAST channel SLVR Sports & Entertainment. American viewers of the channel hear the AI dubbed English commentary as the game happens.

Origins Digital
Origins Digital, which this year separated from its former owner Gravity Media, unveiled an assortment of AI-driven tools at Sportel that provide deep data-driven insights for sports leagues and broadcasters.
The data offering of Origins Digital supplements the company’s core business of creating and running sports OTT streaming platforms.
Speaking to Broadcast Sport while at Sportel, Origins Digital CEO and founder Rémi Chasles says creating, operating and maintaining OTT platforms still represents 75% of his business. He adds that Origins Digital will create an OTT platform for a company free-of-charge with Origins Digital monetising its services by providing customers with maintenance and support once the OTT service goes live.
The company originally formed in 2014 and sold to EMG in 2017. Now an independent company again after leaving EMG (which is now part of Gravity Media), the business has expanded into AI-driven data services.
For the last two years, Origins Digital has developed Origins AI, which brings together fragmented event and tracking data for sports matches from services such as Opta and Genius and offers it all to leagues and broadcasters in a unified platform.
The platform provides a wide range of AI-enabled services to enable users to truly interrogate the data, generate editorial stories, and gain deeper insights into players, games, leagues and more.
Origins AI turns official sports data into ready-to-publish articles in each league or broadcaster’s tone and editorial style, using career milestones, records, unusual trends and comparisons to uncover fresh stories with historical context. It also generates instant match summaries, while a feature called Dugout lets journalists explore the data using natural language queries.

Vivaro/CloudGFX
Vívaro Media and CloudGFX shared a stand at Sportel, having recently announced a partnership aimed at accelerating the adoption of innovative technology to enable the digital transformation of sports organisations around the world.
CloudGFX is a cloud-based platform that enables sports federations, leagues, and teams to centralise the management of competitions, schedules, statistics, results, real-time data, and sports operations. The platform also features advanced tools for graphics and visualisation, augmented reality, sports analytics, fan engagement, in-stadium experiences, and commercial monetisation.
CloudGFX’s platform is used by sports organisations and broadcasters in the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East. Its clients include ESPN, MLB International Series, Liga Mexicana del Pacífico, Softball Canada, FOX Deportes and the World Baseball Softball Confederation.
Under the partnership agreement, Vívaro Media will lead the global commercialisation of CloudGFX’s products and technologies. The two companies will also collaborate on operational and technology development initiatives to expand the platform’s capabilities and accelerate its growth into new markets.
Vivaro Media provides fibre connectivity to live sports around the globe, along with production and post-production services. Its customers include DAZN, ESPN, YouTube and the NBA.
The partnership means Vivaro will actively market CloudGFX to its customers and work as the commercial operator of CloudGFX. “This partnership with CloudGFX strengthens our strategy of providing innovative solutions that help sports organizations optimise their operations, connect with their audiences, and create new business opportunities,” said Daniel González, CEO of Vívaro Media.
