Brightcove’s update introduces AI agents, a redesigned user interface and more than 30 advancements

Streaming technology company Brightcove has unveiled Brightcove Gen 2, what it describes as “the most significant evolution of the Brightcove experience in years”.
It includes more than 22 innovations and 30+ platform advancements to remove operational friction, automating manual work, and create new opportunities for audience growth and monetisation.
Enhancements include the redesigned Prism user interface, which expands monetisation tools, adds new localisation and accessibility capabilities as well as AI-powered features that help automate workflows and reduce manual work.
Among the features new to Gen 2 is the AI Agentic Hub, which enables users to define an outcome and have AI agents coordinate the actions and workflows needed to achieve it.
AI agents can analyse video data, generate insights, and take action on those insights across the platform, from managing content and metadata to optimising workflows and configuring experiences.
Users interact with the agents through a chat-based interface, making it possible to automate complex, cross-platform workflows.
“Video teams are expected to reach more audiences, personalise experiences across devices and languages, drive more value from every viewer, and move faster than ever, often without adding headcount. That’s the tension Brightcove Gen 2 is built to resolve,” said Facundo Alvarez Morales, head of product at Brightcove. “We’ve strengthened the platform’s foundation and introduced new ways to automate work and unlock revenue, so teams can do more, experiment faster, and adapt as their needs evolve.
“Gen 2 also reflects where we see video heading. As audiences increasingly engage through chat and AI-powered experiences, video’s role as the medium that delivers depth and rich experiences becomes even more important. We want our customers leading that shift, not reacting to it.”
