App will allow Apple TV and Google TV users to watch video posts and live streams

Substack has launched a standalone app for Google TVs and Apple TVs.
Now in beta, the app will allow users to watch video posts and live streams from the social content and newsletter platform. Creators’ videos will be automatically added to the app withouth having to take any extra steps.
Further features are expected to be added in due course, but at launch the app allows viewers to watch video posts and livestreams from the creators and publications they’re subscribed to, browse a “For You” row that highlights videos from their subscriptions plus recommended videos, and open a dedicated page for each subscription to explore more videos from a specific publication.
Both free and paid subscribers can sign into the TV app and begin using it, with access to posts matched to their subscription levels with individual creators.
Future features are expected to be audio posts and read-alouds, search and improved discovery, previews of paid content for free subscribers, in-app upgrades to paid subscriptions, and sections for different shows from one publication.
