MIPTV: French broadcaster TF1 has agreed to an ongoing television movie output deal with ITV Studios Global Entertainment.

The commercial outfit will carry films from ITV Studios’ newly acquired Hallmark Hall of Fame collection, including 1991 drama Sarah: Plain and Tall, starring Christopher Walken, and last year’s hit A Dog Named Christmas with Bruce Greenwood. The shows were originally produced for US broadcaster CBS.

The deal, unveiled by ITV Studios today at MIPTV in Cannes, also includes other Hollywood TV movies, such as Lifetime’s The Pregnancy Pact.

David Wilcox, senior sales executive, France and the UK, for ITV Studios Global Entertainment said: “TF1 is home to the very best TV movies and today’s news is incredibly exciting for all parties involved. This output deal underlines the important role and popularity that independently produced feature length drama has in European schedules.”
