SATURDAY: The X Factor continued to underperform as it reached the semi-final stage with its lowest Saturday night audience of the series.
The X Factor (ITV) 8pm-9.30pm
ITV’s singing contest has only registered two lower audiences this year – both were for its rare Friday evening outings in September and October.
The X Factor semi-final was more than a million viewers down on the equivalent episode last year, which drew 8.4m (36.4%). It was also down on 2012, which registered 8m (33.4%).
In contrast, Strictly Come Dancing waltzed off with 9.7m (43%) viewers for BBC1 between 7pm and 8.15pm, according to overnight Barb figures supplied by overnights.tv.
In the 15 minutes Strictly overlapped with The X Factor (between 8pm and 8.15pm), the dance format managed 8.8m (36.5%). ITV’s show drew 6m (27.4%).
Atlantis (BBC1) 8.15pm-9pm
BBC1’s fantasy drama stumbled to a series low on its fourth episode. It lost around 200,000 viewers on last week.
It was easily beaten by I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, which drew 8m (7%) from 9.30pm to 10.35pm on ITV. This was broadly in line with last Saturday’s audience.
