Three more groups are set to apply for the Radio Authority's north/north-west London radio licence. Youth and student music station Raw FM, aimed at 15 to 25-year-olds, is backed by the GWR Group and London publisher Time Out, as well as Carlton TV chairman Nigel Walmsley. Keith Young, publisher of Sunday sports paper Sport First, is leading the consortium behind Fan FM, which would broadcast 24-hour sports news, features and music. The bid is backed by Parliamentary Communications, publisher of Sport First, along with ex-Sporting Life and London News Radio sales director Neil Webster. Rockers FM, meanwhile, is proposing an 'across-the-board' range of music for 25 to 55-year-olds.

South London station Choice FM is also in the running with a local news and community service for an Afro-Caribbean audience. The deadline for applications is 25 May.
