The Yorkshire Vet: At Home With The Greens

“The Yorkshire Vet: At Home With The Greens could only be more Channel 5 if Jane McDonald turned up at the end to belt out a tune. The broadcaster loves Yorkshire in general, Yorkshire farming shows in particular, and always refuses to take itself too seriously. So how about a Yorkshire farming show in which a bunch of paranormal investigators try to contact a ghost in the cow shed? The stars of this programme are Jean and Steve Green. They’re great characters, and I bet the producers couldn’t believe their luck when they stumbled across them.”
Anita Singh, The Telegraph

“Jean is more of a TV natural than Steve, with a homely sense of humour. When one of the paranormal investigators suggests setting up a night-vision camera, she simply suggests that he should eat more carrots. The Yorkshire Vet: At Home with the Greens might be a gentle side-shoot from the long-running mothership, but at least Jean makes sure it’s never boring.”

Surviving Syria’s Prisons, BBC2

“Sara Obeidat’s chilling, profoundly thoughtful documentary takes a significant step towards comprehending the horror and trying to account for it. This is a valuable examination of how totalitarianism sustains itself.”
Jack Seale, The Guardian

“How anyone could live through years of that treatment defies comprehension. This was 75 minutes of necessary but relentlessly depressing television. The only relief came from the brothers’ devotion to each other.”
Christopher Stevens, Daily Mail
