The Guillemots, The Magic Numbers and The Buzzcocks have been lined up to feature in a new music show for Virgin 1.

The channel’s head of acquisitions Amy Barham has acquired the 13 x 60-minute series from Music Engine Productions.

The series, originally called -Live In Concert, is the new indie’s first production.

Each of the shows, which the channel will air under the banner Virgin 1 Presents -, will feature a mixture of concert footage and interviews with the artists.

Other artists lined up are former Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant, Jose Gonzalez, The Pretenders and cult singer Robyn Hitchcock.

The series has been filmed in HD and kicks off on 17 November with The Guillemots at The Astoria, which will air at 11pm.

The founders of Music Engine Martin McCabe and Simon Clement-Davies are producing with Mick Southworth and Katy Haswell as the executive producers.

ID Distribution hold the international rights to the series.

A US version of the show has been commissioned for Rave HD which will air next year. The show will take the same format as the Virgin 1 show but will focus more on American acts.
