Editor of BBC millennium special joins GMG Endemol production arm

EXCLUSIVE - Andy Ward, the editor of 2000 Today, the BBC's 28-hour millennium broadcast, has joined GMG Endemol production arm Initial to head up the company's events activities, writes Tim Dams.

Ward has been closely involved with Initial in the past, working on The Brit Awards for ITV, The Three Tenors concert in Los Angeles, also for the BBC, and Glastonbury 1995 for Channel 4.

He will now begin developing a new worldwide slate of events for Initial while executive producing existing projects, including the indie's Miss World 2000 programming for Channel 5.
