Wark Clements has poached award-winning Scottish Media Group senior producer/director Ross Wilson, writes Ashley Davies.

Wilson, who is expected to join the indie next month as a senior producer, won a Bafta last year for his documentary After Lockerbie, which he directed for ITV. He also produced and directed The Few: A Secret History Special for Channel 4 and Spinners and Losers, a behind-the-scenes documentary about Gordon Brown's spin machine.

Wark Clements managing director Alan Clements commented: 'He's Scotland's most distinguished director and recruiting someone of his calibre signals our ambition to be one of the UK's leading production companies.'

Clements added that he hoped the appointment would help the indie win more high-end commissions from ITV and C4.
