Paul Abbott, creator of the BBC's Bafta-winning drama Clocking Off, has been signed up by Monogram Wark Clements to write a black comedy for ITV1 about a couple caught up in a web of deception after disposing of a body which one of them has killed, writes Steve Aston.The 2 x 75-minute series, Alibi, will feature a string of Shakespearean-style deceptions as the pair - played by Michael Kitchen and Sophie Okenodo - attempt to pass off the death by faking a car accident.Ordered by ITV controller of drama Nick Elliott, the two-parter will be made by Monogram Wark Clements in association with Aka Pictures. The producer is Judith Hackett and the executive producer Eileen Quinn.Elliott has also asked Andrew Davies to write a drama for ITV1 about two jurors who fall in love during the Lady Chatterley's Lover obscenity trial.
