BBC quiz show format The Weakest Link is to be produced by the corporation for a number of markets, including the US, writes Tara Conlan.
The move follows a successful outing of the show, hosted by Anne Robinson and moving into BBC 1 primetime, at last week's Mipcom.

The BBC is due to conclude joint-venture deals in Australia, Germany, the US, France, Belgium and the Netherlands using the same business model it used for the Indian production of Yes Minister (Broadcast, 29.9.00).

Instead of receiving a licence fee the BBC oversaw production from London and used a local, independent crew.

The deals have been put together by BBC Worldwide director of programming and operations Colin Jarvis and sales executive Alec La Ronde.

BBC Worldwide is also about to sign 'consultancy' deals for territories including Israel, Portugal and Turkey.
