Beam TV's managing director David Wolffe has left after eight months to take up the newly created post of finance director of ITV Global Content.

Prior to joining Beam TV on a short term contract, Wolffe spent five years at AOL in various roles including chief financial officer of AOL Europe and AOL UK. He briefly became AOL's managing director in March 2007 before leaving for Beam TV.

Wolffe also served eight years at BBC Worldwide in TV channels and joint ventures, programme distribution and later, consumer publishing.

ITV Global Content managing director Lee Bartlett said: “David's knowledge and understanding of this side of the content business will provide invaluable support to the rest of the division.”

Wolffe said: "I'm excited to be joining a leading creative business at a time of great opportunity... to deliver the undoubted international growth potential of the business."
