Disillusioned with 10 years of Labour rule, last year Cormack set off on a mission to see if he could stomach turning Conservative.
The results are authored doc Make Me a Tory, produced through Maverick Television for Channel 4, Cormack's first television commission, although he has self-financed and directed three short films to critical acclaim. All have since appeared on TV, including Amelia and Michael, starring Anthony Head.
Aaron Young, from the UK Film Council's Short Film Completion Fund, says: “The force of Daniel's entrepreneurial drive combines well with his enthusiasm and creativity.”
