ITV fails in bid to woo Rageh Omaar

A secret plan by ITV News to poach BBC 'scud-stud' reporter Rageh Omaar has ended in failure after the two sides could not agree a deal, it emerged this week. Omaar is currently a freelance at the BBC since his contract expired. Now Channel 4 is understood to be making a play for the Somali-born reporter, who shot to fame as the BBC's war correspondent in Iraq last year.
