Zodiak Rights has acquired the international rights to a new two-part film about record-breaking sprinter Usain Bolt.
Usain Bolt: the Fastest Man Alive features exclusive access to the Olympic and World 100m record holder, including this month’s World Championships in Daegu.
It will be produced by French indie Elephant Doc for France 2 and will be previewed at the Mipcom market in Cannes next month.
The first film, Usain Bolt: The Fastest, paints an intimate portrait of the fastest man on earth in his home environment, featuring the friends who helped him get to the top as well as his first coast, relatives and the Jamaican national coach. It will be available from March 2012.
The second, Usain Bolt: The Legend, will feature the build up to the 2012 London Olympics and will trace the sprinter’s preparation before featuring the Games themselves as he attempts to win more gold medals. It will be available immediately after the Olympics.
Both hour-long films will be directed and produced by Gael Leiblang.
