RDF’s Brexit social experiment failed to pay off, airing well shy of the channel’s 1.3m (6.8%) slot average.

It also fell short of the 2.1m (11.7%) who tuned into watch Studio Lambert’s one-off When Dom and Steph met Nigel Farage in December 2014 which picked up 2.1m (11.7%).

It was beaten by Channel 5’s returning series Nightmare Tenants, Slum Landlords, which was watched by 920,000 (4.7%) However, the BriteSpark Films series failed to meet the channel’s 1.3m (6.5%) slot average.

BBC2’s Britain’s Greatest Inventions, a 90-minute live search for the nation’s most influential invention, picked up 1.6m (8.5%) from 8.30pm-10pm, while BBC1’s DIY SOS: The Big Build was watched by 3.1m (15.9%) from 9pm-10pm.

But it was ITV’s The Real Full Monty that won the slot with 4.3m (22.7%) and peaked with 4.9m (24.5%). It was above the channel’s 3.5m (17%) slot average, according to Barb data supplied by overnights.tv.

Archery Pictures’ sun-soaked drama got underway by eclipsing the channel’s 59,000 (0.2%) slot average and outdoing Guerrilla’s March launch which picked up 50,000 (0.3%) overnight viewers.

The drama also added an additional 215,000 viewers that either watched live at 3am the previous evening or recorded the show and watched it over the following day.

It was Sky Atlantic’s most successful original drama launch since the first series of Fortitude.
